A Pure Heart

“One who loves a pure heart and who speaks with grace will have the king for a friend. The eyes of the Lord keep watch over knowledge, but he frustrates the words of the unfaithful.”
— Proverbs 22:11–12 (NIV)
Loving Jesus positions you for a heart transformation. When you begin to understand how deeply God loves you, your heart starts to reflect His — becoming more like His heart in purity and purpose.
For a long time, I asked, “Why don’t I feel close to God? Why can’t I hear His voice?” But I realized I was asking the wrong questions. Instead, I should have been saying, “God, help me fall in love with Your Word. Help me grow in intimacy with You.”
When I finally desired a genuine relationship with God, I encountered Him in a way that changed my life. That relationship purified my heart and allowed me to mirror His.
When you begin to love what God loves — what is pure and righteous — He gives you grace to live and speak with divine authority and influence. A great example of this is found in Acts 3, when Peter commanded the lame man to rise and walk in the name of Jesus. Peter’s authority came from his relationship with God and the purity of his heart.
But for those who choose not to have a relationship with God — those who oppose His Word — Scripture says God frustrates their words. When you separate yourself from Him, He lifts His grace and empowerment from your life. You can no longer speak or act with the same strength. This doesn’t please God, but He allows it because He never forces relationship — love must be chosen.
That’s why following God’s Word is so vital. The Bible is more than a thousand pages of instruction — it’s God’s heart written to you. It’s a love letter meant to guide, protect, and free you from the grasp of the enemy.
God wants you to walk in His grace, love, and peace. All you have to do is want a relationship with Him. And it’s simple: believe and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross and rose again on the third day (Romans 10:9).
Prayer:
God I thank you for today and everything you have done. God, help me fall in love with Your Word. Help me grow in intimacy with You. Give me a pure heart, so I can mirror your heart. God I love you and I praise you, Amen.
