Abide In Jesus Christ!

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
— John 15:7 (ESV)
Jesus says, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” This raises two crucial questions for our walk with Him: What does it look like to abide in Jesus? And what does it look like for His words to abide in us?
These questions matter deeply, because the ability to “ask whatever you wish” is a responsibility Jesus does not give carelessly.
To abide in Jesus is to live in an ongoing relationship with Him—knowing Him personally and becoming more like Him. It means allowing His character to shape our own: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control.
To have His words abide in us is to let Scripture come alive in our thoughts, attitudes, and actions. It is more than reading the Bible; it is living it. It means being a willing vessel—allowing His words to flow into us and through us, shaping how we think, speak, and act.
When we abide in Jesus and His words abide in us, what we ask for begins to align with who He is. Our prayers become rooted in His character and guided by the truth He has spoken in Scripture.
Prayer
Lord, I thank You for today and for everything You have done. Draw me closer to Your character and to the words You have spoken in the Bible. Let everything I ask flow from a humble heart that is fully directed toward You. I love You, and in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.
