Be Faithful in the Small Things

Scripture: Luke 16:10 (NLT)

“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones.”

Focus

God often prepares you for bigger responsibility through small acts of faithfulness.

Devotional

It is easy to think the important moments are the big ones.

The opportunity.

The promotion.

The ministry platform.

The breakthrough.

But much of your character is built in ordinary moments that nobody notices.

Showing up on time.

Keeping your word.

Doing your work with excellence.

Praying when no one is watching.

Serving when you do not receive recognition.

Choosing integrity when taking a shortcut would be easier.

Jesus teaches that faithfulness in small things matters.

God is not only interested in what you accomplish. He cares about who you are becoming while you accomplish it.

You may feel like your current season is small, but small does not mean meaningless.

David cared for sheep before he became king.

Joseph served faithfully before he was given authority.

The disciples followed Jesus through ordinary days before they were sent to change the world.

Do not despise the small responsibilities in front of you.

They may be exactly where God is developing the character you will need later.

Instead of asking only, “When will God give me more?”

Ask:

“Am I being faithful with what He has already given me?”

Reflection Question

What small responsibility has God placed in front of me that I need to take more seriously?

Prayer

Father, help me be faithful with what You have given me today. Give me integrity when nobody is watching and excellence even in small responsibilities. Prepare my character for whatever You have ahead.
