Be Still and Know

Scripture: Psalm 46:10 (NLT)

“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”

Focus

Sometimes faith looks like stopping, surrendering, and remembering who God is.

Devotional

We live in a world that constantly tells us to do more.

Fix the problem.
Find the answer.
Make the plan.
Keep moving.

But sometimes God calls us to something completely different:

Be still.

Being still does not mean doing nothing. It means letting go of the need to control everything.

It means stopping long enough to remember:

God is still God.

He is still in control.

He is still faithful.

He is still working.

There are situations in life where effort is necessary. But there are also moments when our constant striving becomes a sign that we are depending more on ourselves than on God.

Stillness creates room for trust.

When your mind is racing, be still.

When the future feels uncertain, be still.

When you are tempted to force an outcome, be still.

You do not have to hold the whole world together. God already does.

Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is stop, breathe, pray, and remember who is on the throne.

Reflection Question

What situation am I trying to control instead of trusting God with?

Prayer

Father, quiet my heart today. Help me release the things I cannot control and remember that You are God. Teach me to trust Your power, Your timing, and Your faithfulness.
