Beholding Jesus
Share
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 3:18
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
Focus:
We become like the One we spend time with.
Devotional
One of the greatest misconceptions in the Christian life is that transformation comes primarily through trying harder.
The Bible teaches something different.
Transformation begins with beholding Jesus.
Paul says that as we behold the glory of the Lord, we are transformed into His image. Notice the order: we don’t become like Christ by focusing on ourselves—we become like Christ by fixing our eyes on Him.
The more you know Jesus, the more you begin to think like Him.
The more you spend time in His presence, the more your heart begins to love what He loves.
The more you meditate on His Word, the more your life reflects His character.
This is why spending time with God is not simply another task on a Christian checklist. It is the place where God changes us from the inside out.
Think about the disciples. People recognized that they had been with Jesus—not because of their education or status, but because His life was evident in them (see Acts 4:13).
The same can be true of us.
If we want to reflect Christ, we must first remain close to Christ.
Reflection Question
When people spend time with me, do they see more of Jesus because I’ve spent time with Him?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I don’t just want to know more about You—I want to know You. As I spend time in Your presence, transform my heart, renew my mind, and make me more like You each day.
