Come And Drink

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.”

—Isaiah 55:1 (NIV)

This verse is filled with spiritual symbolism that connects with other Scriptures in the Bible.

Questions:

• “Come, all you who are thirsty”?

This refers to those who have a spiritual longing for God. He is calling everyone who is empty, weary, or searching for meaning to come to Him (John 7:37–38; Revelation 22:17).

• What do wine and milk represent?

Wine symbolizes joy and celebration (Psalm 104:15; Matthew 26:29).

Milk symbolizes nourishment and growth in faith (1 Peter 2:2).

Truths:

God invites all who are spiritually thirsty to come to Him. You don’t have to earn it or pay for it—His gift is free. He wants to give you joy, nourishment, and growth in your walk with Him.

This connects to the story of Jesus and the woman at the well (John 4:7–14). She chased after what the world offered but still felt empty. When Jesus offered her living water—eternal life—she discovered true purpose and began living with a heavenly mindset.

Application:

Think about your own life. What are you chasing after? Are those things leaving you dry and empty inside? Are you thirsty for something real? God offers living water that satisfies completely—and it’s free. Take a step today and follow the One who alone can fill your soul.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for today. Thank You for everything You’ve done and all You are still doing. I pray for a new sense of purpose that flows from Your living water. Amen.
