Conviction Brings Life

Or do you have no regard for the wealth of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?”
— Romans 2:4 (AMP)
Why should we stop sinning? Why would anyone turn from something that seems fun, satisfying, and appealing? The truth is, there’s a reason people continue in sin — it offers a temporary thrill. But followers of Christ find something far greater: the power of salvation.
Sin is more than breaking rules — it is missing the mark of God’s divine order. In other words, sin produces chaos and emptiness. It creates a void, separating us from the life and presence of God.
But God, in His kindness, didn’t leave us there. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, not to allow us to remain in sin but to save us from it. His death and resurrection break the power of sin’s void, offering us true life.
To believe in Jesus means more than agreeing with Him; it means walking in His ways. We turn from sin not because God’s ways are restrictive, but because His ways are life itself.
