Don’t Rush Ahead of God
Share
Scripture: Psalm 27:14 (NLT)
“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”
Focus
Faith sometimes means moving forward. Other times, it means refusing to move before God leads.
Devotional
Waiting can feel unproductive.
We want answers.
We want clarity.
We want the next step.
And when God seems slow, we can be tempted to create our own solution.
But rushing ahead of God often creates problems that patience would have prevented.
Waiting on the Lord does not mean doing nothing.
It means staying faithful while you wait.
Keep praying.
Keep obeying what you already know.
Keep growing.
Keep serving.
Keep trusting.
David connects waiting with courage because waiting actually takes strength.
It takes courage to trust God when you cannot see what He is doing.
It takes courage to say, “I will not force this door open.”
It takes courage to believe that God’s timing is better than your own.
You do not have to manufacture the next season of your life.
If God is leading, He knows how to open the right door at the right time.
Your responsibility is not to control the future.
It is to remain faithful today.
Reflection Question
Is there an area where I am tempted to rush ahead instead of waiting for God’s direction?
Prayer
Father, give me patience when I want immediate answers. Keep me from forcing things that You have not opened. Help me stay faithful in this season and trust that Your timing is wiser than mine.
