Don’t Waste Time

What are you wasting time with?

“Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!” History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. We don’t remember what happened in the past, and in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now.”

Ecclesiastes 1:2, 9, 11 NLT

What are you chasing after—money, drugs, popularity, sex, or the things the world loves? What void do you think these things fill? Really reflect… do they bring you peace, joy, and love? I’m not talking about temporary happiness. I’m talking about true joy—joy that brings peace into every part of your life.

If you say, “I’m a follower of Jesus Christ,” but still live chasing the things of the world, you’re not truly accepting the free gift God has given you. You are still living under the enemy’s grasp of destruction and death.

But the amazing thing about what Jesus did for you and me when He died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice—bringing us out of the lineage of sin through Adam and into a new and perfect lineage through faith—is this: the Holy Spirit now lives inside of us, empowering us not to sin and breaking us free from the bondage of sin and death.

When you truly follow Jesus, He will lead you and help you live differently. God wants you to have the ultimate peace that surpasses all understanding. The sinful desires mentioned earlier can only bring temporary fulfillment, but in the end they will leave you empty, searching for meaning and purpose.

Prayer:

God, I praise You and thank You for everything You have done! You are an awesome God, and there is no one like You. Lord, I boldly come to Your throne room and ask You to change my desires, lead me in Your ways, and let me encounter Your unfailing peace that transcends all understanding. I love You, God! In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen
