God Gives Wisdom

Scripture: James 1:5 (NLT)
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”
Focus
God welcomes us when we ask for direction.
Devotional
There are moments when we simply do not know what to do.
We may be facing an important decision, a difficult relationship, a new opportunity, or a situation that feels confusing. In those moments, it is easy to rely only on our emotions, the opinions of others, or our own limited understanding.
But James gives us a clear instruction:
Ask God for wisdom.
God is not irritated by your questions. He is not disappointed that you do not have everything figured out.
He is generous.
Wisdom is more than knowledge. Knowledge tells you what is true. Wisdom helps you know how to apply truth in the right way, at the right time.
Godly wisdom will never lead you away from Scripture. It will produce humility, peace, purity, and obedience.
Sometimes God gives direction immediately. Other times, He leads us gradually through prayer, His Word, wise counsel, and circumstances.
The goal is not only to receive an answer. It is to learn dependence on the One who sees what we cannot see.
You do not have to force every decision.
You can slow down, seek God, and trust Him to guide you.
Reflection Question
What decision or situation do I need to bring before God and ask Him for wisdom?
Prayer
Father, I need Your wisdom. Help me not to rely only on my own understanding. Guide my thoughts, choices, and actions. Give me a humble heart that is willing to follow Your direction.
Key Truth
God does not shame you for needing guidance. He invites you to ask.
