Identity Rooted in Love

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”

Focus: Your identity begins with being loved by God.

Devotional:
One of the greatest struggles people face is trying to earn love and acceptance. We search for it through achievements, relationships, popularity, or validation from others. But none of those things can fully satisfy the heart.

The Gospel tells a different story: before you proved yourself, God loved you.

Your identity is not rooted in how many people accept you, how successful you are, or how perfect you appear. Your identity is rooted in the fact that the Father calls you His child.

When you truly understand God’s love, you stop striving to find your worth everywhere else.

The world says:

  • “You are what you accomplish.”
  • “You are what people think about you.”
  • “You are your failures.”

But God says:

  • “You are Mine.”

That changes everything.

Reflection Question:
Where have I been looking for validation outside of God’s love?

Prayer:
Father, help me rest in Your love and find my identity completely in You.
