Knowing God‘s Love For You

Scripture
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
— John 3:16, NIV
What Motivates God’s Love for Us?
From the very beginning, God created people for relationship. In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve walked with God and spoke with Him freely (Genesis 3:8). They experienced perfect fellowship—no guilt, no shame, no barriers.
But when they sinned by disobeying God’s command (Genesis 3:6), that closeness was broken. Sin created separation between humanity and God (Isaiah 59:2).
Yet God’s heart never changed. He still longed for that same relationship with His children. That’s why He sent Jesus—to restore what was lost in the garden (Romans 5:18–19). Through Him, we can once again walk with God, not just knowing about Him, but truly knowing Him through His Spirit living inside of us (John 14:16–17).
What Does It Mean to Believe in Him?
To believe in Jesus means more than agreeing with who He is—it means committing your life to Him (James 2:19). True belief shows itself in obedience and love for Him (John 14:15).
Truths to Hold On To:
• Jesus cleanses us from all sin and saves us from eternal separation from God (1 John 1:7).
• Through His sacrifice, we are made right in God’s eyes (2 Corinthians 5:21).
• We are adopted into God’s family through Jesus (Ephesians 1:5).
• The Holy Spirit lives in us, giving us fellowship with God (Romans 8:11).
• Instead of inheriting Adam’s sin, we now share in Christ’s righteousness (Romans 5:17).
• In Him, we have eternal life (1 John 5:11–12).
Application
Ask yourself: Do I truly believe in Jesus—or do I just like the thought of Him? Real faith is shown in action—by following His teachings and living out His Word (James 1:22). Take a step of faith today by surrendering to Him fully.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me so much that You sent Your only Son to die for my sins (Romans 5:8). I believe that Jesus died and rose again to save me (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). Forgive me for my past sins and deliver me from anything that keeps me from You. Make me new, Lord (2 Corinthians 5:17). Help me to grow in Your love and walk faithfully with You each day. I love You, and I give You my life. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray—Amen.
