Law Of The Spirit

Romans 8:1–2 (NIV)

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
Questions:

What Is Condemnation?
Condemnation is the expression of strong disapproval or censure. Spiritually, it is the state of being judged guilty and deserving punishment.

The Law of the Spirit
This refers to the new covenant of life through the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus, we are made right with God and are continually being perfected by the Spirit who dwells within us.

The Law of Sin and Death
This is the old covenant revealed in the Old Testament, which showed humanity what sin is but could not free us from it. The result of sin is death.

Truths:
• In Christ, there is no condemnation.
• The old law exposes sin and brings judgment, but the Spirit, through Christ, brings freedom and life.
• When you are born again—accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior—the Holy Spirit lives in you. He sharpens, convicts, and helps you turn from sin, leading you down the path of righteousness.

Application:

Listen for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Allow Him to turn you away from sin and lead you into a life that pleases God. Do not let guilt or sin pull you away from the Father. Instead, welcome the Spirit’s conviction, which points you toward repentance and growth.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for all You have done and all You will do. Lead me by Your Spirit to live a holy and pleasing life. Help me to repent of anything that is not from You. I love You and praise You. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
