Let God Direct Your Path

Scripture: Proverbs 3:5–6 (NLT)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

Focus

You do not have to understand everything before you trust God.

Devotional

One of the hardest things about following God is not knowing what comes next.

We want clarity before obedience.
We want certainty before surrender.
We want the full plan before taking the first step.

But Scripture tells us to trust God with all our heart and not depend only on what we can understand.

Our perspective is limited.

We see today.
God sees the whole journey.

We see one decision.
God sees where every decision leads.

Trust means believing that His wisdom is greater than ours, even when His direction does not immediately make sense.

This does not mean we stop thinking, planning, or seeking wise counsel. It means those things never replace dependence on God.

The promise in this passage is powerful: when we seek Him and acknowledge Him in our decisions, He directs our path.

Sometimes that direction comes through Scripture.
Sometimes through prayer and wisdom.
Sometimes through a door opening or closing.

But our responsibility remains the same:

Trust Him.
Seek Him.
Obey what He has already made clear.

You do not need the entire map when you know the One leading the way.

Reflection Question

What situation am I trying to fully understand before I am willing to trust God with it?

Prayer

Father, help me trust You with all my heart. When I cannot see what comes next, remind me that You already know the way. Guide my decisions, align my desires with Your will, and give me courage to follow wherever You lead.
