Spiritual Blessings: Part 2

Continuing the Spiritual Blessings series
“God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.”
— Ephesians 1:5, 7 (NLT)
Spiritual Blessings 3 & 4
• We are adopted into the family of God through Christ Jesus.
• We are freed and forgiven from our sins through His grace.
Truths:
As believers, we have a new lineage. When we put our faith in Jesus, our old lineage of sin and destruction is gone.
Whatever you may be dealing with—things from your past or even from your family’s past—that’s not your story anymore. You have a new story through Christ and His goodness.
Bondages like depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts have no place in your life. When Jesus brought you into His family, you became a citizen of His kingdom. You are no longer defined by the world or by the brokenness of your past.
Through adoption, God gives us grace. Through the cross, Jesus purchased our forgiveness. As Christians, we are forgiven and made new by the blood of Jesus.
Appreciate:
Believe and walk in the truth that you are a child of God, rooted in His family, covered in His love and forgiveness. Don’t let your past—or your family’s past—hold you back from what God has for you. You don’t have to carry the same weights or live under the same patterns of sin. In Christ, you are free.
Prayer:
Thank You, God, for today. Thank You for adopting me into Your family. I know that through You, I don’t have to carry the bondages of my past or my family anymore. I love You, and I praise You. Amen.
