Start the Week With God

Scripture: Psalm 90:17 (NLT)

“And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful.”

Focus

Before you give your week your effort, give God your attention.

Devotional

Mondays can feel like a reset.

A new week.

New responsibilities.

New problems to solve.

New opportunities.

It is easy to wake up and immediately start thinking about everything that needs to get done.

But before you rush into the week, pause and remember who gives your work meaning.

Your job is not just to stay busy.

Your goal is not just to accomplish more.

Your life is meant to glorify God in everything you do.

That means your Monday matters to Him.

Your attitude matters.

Your conversations matter.

Your work ethic matters.

Your decisions matter.

Psalm 90 asks God to establish the work of our hands. That is a powerful prayer for the beginning of a week.

“Lord, let what I do matter.”

“Guide my plans.”

“Give me wisdom.”

“Help me work with excellence.”

“Close the doors that are not from You.”

“Use my work for Your purposes.”

You do not need to carry the pressure of making the entire week successful by yourself.

Work hard.

Plan wisely.

But surrender the outcome to God.

Let Monday become more than the beginning of another busy week.

Let it become the beginning of another week lived with Jesus.

Reflection Question

What would change about my week if I intentionally invited God into my plans before I started working?

Prayer

Father, I give You this week. Establish the work of my hands and guide every decision I make. Help me work with excellence, love people well, and honor You in everything I do. Let my plans align with Your purposes.

Monday Challenge

Before you begin your main responsibilities today, take two minutes and surrender your entire week to God.
