Strength in Weakness
Share
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:9
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
Focus:
God’s strength shines brightest in our weakness.
Devotional
We naturally want to hide our weaknesses. We want to appear strong, capable, and self-sufficient. But the kingdom of God often works in the opposite way.
When Paul the Apostle pleaded with God to remove his “thorn in the flesh,” God did not give him the answer he expected. Instead, God gave him something better:
“My grace is sufficient for you.”
God’s goal was not merely to remove Paul’s weakness, but to reveal His power through it.
Sometimes we think our weaknesses disqualify us from being used by God. Yet throughout Scripture, God consistently chooses imperfect people:
- Moses struggled with speaking.
- Gideon struggled with fear.
- Peter struggled with failure.
And God used them all.
Your limitations are not obstacles to God’s work—they are opportunities for His grace to be displayed.
The Christian life is not about proving how strong we are. It is about learning how dependent we are on Christ.
Reflection Question
What weakness have I viewed as a disqualification that God may want to use for His glory?
Prayer
Lord, thank You that Your grace is enough for me. Help me to stop relying on my own strength and to trust Your power in the areas where I feel weak.
