The Greatness of God

Scripture: Isaiah 40:28

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom.”

Focus:

A bigger view of God leads to a deeper trust in God.

Devotional

Many of our fears grow because our view of God has become too small.

When we focus only on our problems, they seem overwhelming. But when we lift our eyes to God, we remember who is in control.

The God you pray to is the Creator of the universe.

He spoke creation into existence.
He holds the stars in place.
He knows every detail of your life.
Nothing surprises Him, confuses Him, or overwhelms Him.

Sometimes we act as though our situation is too difficult for God. Yet the God who parted the sea, raised the dead, and conquered the grave has not changed.

The more we meditate on God’s greatness, the less intimidating our circumstances become.

This doesn’t mean our problems disappear. It means our confidence grows because we remember that our problems are in the hands of an all-powerful God.

When you worship, you’re not reminding God of His greatness—you are reminding yourself of it.

That’s why worship is so powerful. It lifts our eyes from our circumstances to the One who reigns over them all.

Reflection Question

Have I been spending more time thinking about my problems than thinking about the greatness of God?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, enlarge my view of who You are. When fear and worry begin to overwhelm me, remind me that You are the everlasting God, and nothing is too difficult for You. Help me trust Your power, Your wisdom, and Your perfect plan.
