The Power Within You

Acts 5:12, 17–19 (NIV)

“The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers used to meet together in Solomon’s Colonnade. Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out.”

Reflection:

What are you doing for the Lord?

I’m not talking about doing things for Him because He’s a strict Father, but because He loves you so deeply that He sent His only Son for you. Everything you do for the Lord should flow out of love—because He loved us first.

In this story, the apostles were faithfully doing the work of the Lord, and it stirred jealousy in those who thought they had everything the world could offer. Why? Because the apostles had something they didn’t—Jesus.

Jesus changes everything. He brings joy, love, and peace. The apostles had the power of God within them, and that same power is available to you today.

Imagine This:

Take a moment and picture it—the power of God living inside you.

This power enables you to love others fully.

This power gives you peace that surpasses all understanding.

This power fills you with courage, purpose, and hope.

And this power isn’t reserved for a select few. It’s for every believer.

All you have to do is confess and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and that He rose from the dead on the third day. When you believe, God sends His Holy Spirit to live within you—to strengthen, guide, and empower you daily.

That power in you may make some people jealous, or it may lead them into a relationship with God. Either way, it’s impossible to hide the light of His presence when it’s shining through you.

How to Grow in Understanding of God’s Power Within You:

1. Read Your Bible

Start with the books of John and James. God’s Word is alive and active—it speaks directly to your life today.

Before reading, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what you might not understand. He’s your teacher and guide.

2. Pray

God already knows everything about you, but He desires to talk with you.

Prayer isn’t just a routine—it’s the foundation of your relationship with Him.

Think of it like this: I can know a lot about you, but if I never talk to you, we don’t actually have a relationship.

3. Community

God designed us to grow together.

Find a church that teaches the Bible faithfully and aligns with Scripture. Surround yourself with believers who will encourage and challenge you in your walk with Christ.

Prayer:

Thank You, God, for everything You’ve done.

Thank You for making Yourself real to me and guiding me into a relationship with You.

Help me grow deeper in Your Word and become who You’ve called me to be.

Lord, I love You and I praise You.

In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray—Amen.
